M is for mundane

“I have plenty to do…It’s just that none of it’s exciting or interesting.”
“I don’t feel like I’m doing anything that matters.”

The ordinary day can be like concentric circles:  a daily cycle of chores, a daily (UNPREDICTABLE) cycle of interactions with children, a daily cycle of home-school-work-a million errands-home.

We might call the ordinary day DULL.  MUNDANE.
God is present in our mundane.
WHATEVER God has ordained as our current ordinary is packed with purpose.
God is working the extraordinary in what we call ordinary.

Sure, some of our days – or lots of our days – may be mundane BUT God did not make us to be mundane.

HE made us in LIVING COLOR. Beautiful, marvelous, PACKED with purpose.

God IS the Extraordinary.
Alone, we are ordinary.
In relationship with Jesus, the Extraordinary covers and fills our ordinary, ACTIVELY engaging with us.

Are we engaged?

Every day, we can live ordinary or live IN the Extraordinary. IN CHRIST.

Engaging with the Extraordinary in our ordinary. Communion.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11.1)

God, help us to live beyond what we see. Help us to believe and see how You have made us in LIVING COLOR. Amen.
