Loving You MOST, Jesus {day 30} : We Forgive

“I was wrong. As soon as I realized how I’ve treated you, I have been MISERABLE. I can’t begin to describe how sorry I am. Will you please forgive me – please?”

Okay, you can wake up. That was a dream.

DSC01538Forgiveness is hard. Period.

God knows exactly how hard each circumstance is for us. He knows the pain in our heart. Yet, He commands us to forgive. He KNOWS we are able THROUGH His love.

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” (Colossians 3.12-14)

… put on love. Perfect Love.

The power of God’s love enables us to decide to forgive and then, to forgive.
As we forgive, God’s love heals us.
As we forgive, God’s love frees us.

DSC01524Jesus demonstrated the epitome of love for God: “…he (Jesus) humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” (Philippians 2.8)

Jesus demonstrated His love for us by forgiving us – pouring out His blood on the cross for our sins.

When we forgive, we love God and we reflect His love to the person. Every time we forgive, we grow stronger in believing God’s love is ALL we need.

DSC01543One of the greatest demonstrations of love is obedience. One of the hardest obediences is to forgive.

Forgiveness is love in the form of sacrifice.
Forgiveness is worship.
Forgiveness is proof of the power of God’s love.
We forgive because we love Jesus MOST.
