Loving You MOST, Jesus {day 13} : The Word

DSC01965 As I began to pursue God, to know Him through the scriptures, I was riveted by how people trusted Him, talked and listened to Him… and LOVED Him.

None loved Him perfectly. Yet, their lives demonstrated that they loved God MOST.

Do I love God like this?

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3.16-17)

God-breathed… What better way to know someone than to listen to Him talk, watch Him move, and spend time with Him?

To love Jesus MOST, we need to try to know Him most.

DSC01963God-breathed…. Power-filled to stimulate our heart to yield –
to His molding
to obey and serve Him
to receive His LOVE
to love Him MOST
to love others.

God-breathed… We learn how He loves – “teaching, rebuking, correcting, training…” – and we begin to realize how many ways He’s loved us. Ways that we never called ‘love’.

We learn. Our faith deepens. His love pours. Our heart grows fuller.

Love isn’t somehow manufactured because we read scripture. We can’t “make” what God alone “IS”.

God’s love is given, received, and shared because we choose to pursue intimacy – first place intimacy.

Dear God, Help me want to know you more. Show me how through Your Word, worship, and Your people. Encourage me as I practice spending time with You. Thank You that You have a plan for me to love You MOST. Amen.
