“…He’s got the whole world in His hands…”
When I was a little girl, we used to sing this song all the time. Though God’s name is not used, I knew that’s who we were singing about, though I doubt that’s what I was thinking most times we sang it… I was probably just singing, not really thinking about it.
It’s actually worth thinking about… praying about…taking the time to RECEIVE: God holds you and me – in His hands. All the time. He never puts us down.
Jesus said, “…My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life… and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John. 10.27,28)
We’re a source of comfort and love. They feel that somehow we’ll meet their immediate need, even if they can’t or don’t want to express it. Words often aren’t necessary. Our presence is satisfying.
Our Abba Daddy wants us to come to Him this way. “Hold me, Lord. I need Your comfort. I need Your assurance.” Do we collapse into His warm embrace daily? Or try to bear up on our own?
“For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior….you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you.” (Isaiah 43.3,4)
